【一人旅山口編】ときわ動物園(2022.09)-動物園,アクセス,駐車場,ときわ公園,猿,カピパラ,宇部市-Tokiwa Zoo,Yamaguchi
2022年9月に山口県宇部市にある「ときわ動物園」に行きました。
・ときわ動物園
1955年、現在のときわ動物園の前身となる宮大路動物園が山口県内初の動物園として宇部市内に開園しました。
市民の方々からの１円募金をもとに設立された動物園で、多種多様な動物を飼育展示して多くのお客様に愛されてきました。
そして1964年に市街地からときわ公園内に場所を移し、動物園の新たなスタートを切りました。
飼育技術の発展もめざましく、インドのカルカッタから導入したモモイロペリカンの飼育繁殖やチリ―フラミンゴの人工育雛などで全国的に知られることとなります。
人工育雛で育ったモモイロペリカンの「カッタ君」は近隣の幼稚園などに度々飛来して人気を博しました。
開園時間：9:00～17:00
休園日：火曜日（火曜日が休日または祝日のときはその翌日）
入園料：一般700円、中学生以下200円、70歳以上250円

・Tokiwa Zoo
In 1955, Miyaoji Zoo, the predecessor of the current Tokiwa Zoo, opened in Ube City as the first zoo in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The zoo was established with one-yen donations from local residents, and has been loved by many visitors for its wide variety of animals.
In 1964, the zoo moved from the city center to Tokiwa Park, marking a new start for the zoo.
The zoo’s breeding techniques have also improved remarkably, and it has become known nationwide for its captive breeding of great white pelicans introduced from Calcutta, India, and its artificial breeding of Chilean flamingos.
“Katta-kun,” a great white pelican raised in an artificial brood, was a popular frequent visitor to nearby kindergartens.

Admission fee: 700 yen for adults, 200 yen for junior high school students and younger, 250 yen for those 70 years and older
