⁴ᴷ Hyogo: Himeji Station (兵庫県: 姫路駅) – Japan Walking Tour (October, 2024)
The final stop on my journey through the Chūgoku region, covering both the San’in and Sanyō areas, is Himeji City in Hyogo Prefecture. When you think of Himeji, the first thing that comes to mind is Himeji Castle. Stepping out of the north exit of the station, although the castle is a bit of a distance away, you can still see it beautifully lit up at night. Technically, it’s the north exit, but it’s also referred to as the “Himeji Castle Exit.” I walked past Sanyo Himeji Station and headed towards the entertainment district around Uomachi and Shiomachi. It felt like I was just in time for the start of the night shift in the area.
